Flank steak

Posted on March 13, 2026 by Admin

Perfect! Flank steak is lean, flavorful, and best when marinated and sliced against the grain. Here’s a simple way to cook it:

Pan-Seared or Grilled Flank Steak

Ingredients:

  • 1–1.5 lb (450–680g) flank steak
  • 2–3 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt & black pepper
  • Optional marinade:
    • ¼ cup soy sauce
    • 2 tbsp olive oil
    • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1 tsp brown sugar
    • Juice of 1 lime or lemon

Steps:

  1. Marinate (Optional but Recommended):
    • Mix marinade ingredients and coat the steak.
    • Let sit at room temperature for 20–30 minutes or refrigerate 2–4 hours for more flavor.
  2. Prep the Steak:
    • Pat dry and season with salt and pepper if not marinated.
  3. Cook the Steak:
    • Pan-Sear: Heat 2 tbsp oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook 4–5 minutes per side for medium-rare.
    • Grill: Preheat grill to high and cook 4–5 minutes per side for medium-rare.
  4. Rest and Slice:
    • Let steak rest 5–10 minutes after cooking.
    • Slice thinly against the grain to maximize tenderness.
  5. Serve:
    • Excellent with mashed potatoes, roasted veggies, or in tacos and salads.

If you want, I can also give a stir-fry style flank steak version that’s quick, tender, and packed with veggies—ready in about 20 minutes.

Do you want me to do that?
