Beef Fried Rice

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked rice (day-old rice works best)
  • 1 cup cooked beef, sliced or diced (steak, roast, or ground beef)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup mixed vegetables (peas, carrots, corn)
  • 2–3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional)
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 tsp garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the eggs
    • Heat 1 tbsp oil in a large skillet or wok.
    • Scramble the eggs, then remove and set aside.
  2. Cook the beef
    • Add another tablespoon of oil.
    • Cook the beef until browned if not already cooked.
  3. Add vegetables
    • Stir in garlic and mixed vegetables. Cook about 2–3 minutes.
  4. Add the rice
    • Add cooked rice and break up any clumps. Stir well.
  5. Season
    • Add soy sauce and oyster sauce.
    • Stir everything together for 3–5 minutes.
  6. Finish
    • Add scrambled eggs and green onions.
    • Mix well and serve hot.

  • Bell peppers
  • Mushrooms
  • Bean sprouts
  • Sesame oil (for extra flavor)
