Perfect White Rice (Fluffy & Simple) 🍚✨

A basic staple you can pair with almost anything!


📝 Ingredients:

  • 1 cup white rice (basmati or any long-grain)
  • 2 cups water
  • ½ tsp salt (optional)
  • 1 tsp oil or butter (optional)

👩‍🍳 Instructions:

1. Rinse the Rice

  • Wash rice 2–3 times until water runs clearer (removes extra starch)

2. Boil

  • Add rice, water, salt, and oil to a pot
  • Bring to a boil

3. Simmer

  • Reduce heat to low
  • Cover and cook for 12–15 minutes

4. Rest

  • Turn off heat and let sit covered for 5 minutes

5. Fluff & Serve

  • Use a fork to fluff the rice

🔥 Tips:

  • Don’t stir while cooking—it makes rice sticky
  • Keep lid closed to trap steam
  • For extra aroma, use basmati rice

🍽️ Variations:

  • Jeera Rice: add cumin seeds in oil before cooking
  • Butter Rice: stir in butter at the end
  • Garlic Rice: sauté garlic first, then add rice
