Slow Cooker Mushroom Chicken (Creamy & Tender) 🍄🍗

A comforting, restaurant-style dish made easy in the crockpot.


📝 Ingredients:

  • 500–700g chicken breasts or thighs
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2–3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • ½ cup heavy cream or cream cheese
  • 2 tbsp butter or olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp dried thyme or Italian herbs
  • Optional: ¼ cup white wine or marsala wine

👩‍🍳 Instructions:

1. Prep Ingredients

  • Slice mushrooms and onions.
  • Mince garlic.
  • Season chicken with salt and pepper.

2. Add to Crockpot

  • Place chicken at the bottom.
  • Add mushrooms, onions, and garlic.
  • Pour chicken broth (and wine if using) over the top.

3. Cook

  • Low: 6–7 hours
  • High: 3–4 hours

4. Finish with Cream

  • Stir in cream or cream cheese for a rich, creamy sauce.
  • Adjust salt and pepper to taste.

5. Serve

  • Spoon sauce over chicken
  • Garnish with parsley
  • Pair with rice, mashed potatoes, or pasta

🔥 Flavor Variations:

  • Garlic Parmesan: add grated parmesan at the end
  • Spicy: add red chili flakes
  • Herb Boost: fresh thyme, rosemary, or basil

💡 Tips:

  • Thighs stay juicier than breasts.
  • For thicker sauce, remove chicken after cooking and simmer sauce for 10 min.
  • Don’t over-stir—the chicken should stay tender.
