🛒 Ingredients (Serves 2–4)

  • 2 ribeye, sirloin, or strip steaks (about 1-inch thick)
  • 2–4 medium potatoes (russet, Yukon gold, or red), cubed or sliced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika or smoked paprika (optional)
  • Optional: fresh rosemary or thyme

🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Prepare Potatoes

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) if roasting.
  • Toss potato cubes or slices with 1 tbsp olive oil, salt, pepper, and optional paprika or herbs.
  • Roast in oven for 25–30 minutes until golden and tender, flipping halfway.

2️⃣ Cook the Steak

  • Pat steaks dry and season with salt, pepper, and optional paprika.
  • Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Sear steaks 3–5 minutes per side (depending on thickness and desired doneness).
  • Optional: add garlic and herbs in the last 1–2 minutes and spoon over steak.

3️⃣ Rest the Steak

  • Remove steaks from skillet and let rest 5–10 minutes before slicing to retain juices.

4️⃣ Serve

  • Serve steaks alongside roasted potatoes.
  • Optional: add a side of sautéed vegetables or a simple salad.

💡 Tips

  • Use a meat thermometer for perfect doneness: 130°F for medium-rare, 140°F for medium.
  • For extra flavor, marinate steaks in garlic, olive oil, and herbs for 30 minutes before cooking.
  • Pan juices from the steak can be poured over potatoes for extra richness.
