Here’s a comforting Slow Cooker Ham and Potato Soup recipe 🥔🥓—easy, creamy, and perfect for a hands-off meal:


🥘 Ingredients (4–6 servings):

  • 3–4 cups diced cooked ham
  • 4–5 medium potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2–3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup milk or cream
  • 2 carrots, diced (optional)
  • 2 celery stalks, diced (optional)
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Optional: shredded cheddar cheese, green onions, or parsley for topping

👩‍🍳 Instructions:

1. Prepare the Slow Cooker

  • Spray the slow cooker with nonstick spray or lightly grease with butter

2. Add Ingredients

  • Combine ham, potatoes, onion, garlic, carrots, celery, and chicken broth in the slow cooker

3. Cook

  • Cover and cook on LOW for 6–7 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours, until potatoes are tender

4. Add Milk & Seasoning

  • Stir in milk or cream
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste
  • Cook an additional 10–15 minutes to heat through

5. Serve

  • Optional: top with shredded cheddar, chopped green onions, or parsley
  • Serve hot with crusty bread or rolls

💡 Tips:

  • For a thicker soup, mash some of the potatoes in the slow cooker before adding milk
  • Use leftover ham from a holiday meal for easy prep
  • You can freeze leftovers (without milk) and reheat, adding milk when serving
