🥩 Prime rib (Roast Beef)

Prime rib is a very tender and flavorful beef roast cut from the rib section. It’s often served for special meals and holidays because of its rich taste and juicy texture.


🍽️ Simple Prime Rib Roast Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 prime rib roast (about 4–6 lbs)
  • 2–3 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp fresh rosemary (optional)
  • 1 tsp thyme (optional)

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Bring to room temperature
    Take the roast out of the refrigerator about 1 hour before cooking.
  2. Season the roast
    Rub with olive oil, garlic, salt, pepper, rosemary, and thyme.
  3. Preheat oven
    Set oven to 450°F (230°C).
  4. Roast (first stage)
    Place the roast fat-side up in a roasting pan and cook 20 minutes at 450°F.
  5. Lower the temperature
    Reduce oven to 325°F (165°C) and continue roasting for about 15 minutes per pound.
  6. Check doneness
    • Rare: 120–125°F
    • Medium-rare: 130–135°F
    • Medium: 140–145°F
  7. Rest the meat
    Remove from oven and let rest 15–20 minutes before slicing.
