🥩 Philly Cheesesteak Meatloaf

Servings: 4–6

🛒 Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 lb ground pork (optional for extra juiciness)
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup shredded provolone or mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Optional: 1/2 tsp smoked paprika

🍽️ Instructions

1. Preheat Oven

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease a loaf pan or line with parchment paper.

2. Sauté Veggies

  • In a skillet, sauté onions, bell peppers, and garlic until soft (about 5 minutes).
  • Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

3. Mix Meatloaf

  • In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork (if using), breadcrumbs, milk, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
  • Fold in sautéed veggies and 1/2 cup of shredded cheese.

4. Shape & Bake

  • Shape mixture into a loaf and place in prepared pan.
  • Bake 50–60 minutes until internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).

5. Add Cheese Topping

  • During the last 10 minutes of baking, sprinkle remaining cheese on top to melt.

6. Serve

  • Let rest 5 minutes before slicing.
  • Optional: serve with sautéed mushrooms, extra peppers, or a drizzle of cheese sauce.

💡 Tips

  • For extra Philly flavor, add thin slices of cooked steak or roast beef inside the meatloaf before baking.
  • Use provolone cheese for authenticity, or mozzarella for a creamier melt.
