Peach cobbler with canned peaches

Here’s a simple and delicious Peach Cobbler using canned peaches 🍑 — perfect for a quick, comforting dessert.


Ingredients (Serves 6–8)

Peach Filling:

  • 2 cans (15 oz each) sliced peaches, drained (reserve ¼ cup syrup)
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • Optional: 1 tsp lemon juice

Cobbler Topping:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • ½ cup (1 stick) butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven
    • 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8-inch baking dish.
  2. Prepare the Filling
    • In a bowl, mix peaches, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and optional lemon juice.
    • Pour into the prepared baking dish.
  3. Prepare the Topping
    • In another bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
    • Stir in milk until smooth.
  4. Assemble
    • Pour melted butter into the baking dish.
    • Pour batter over butter — do not stir. The batter will rise around the peaches as it bakes.
  5. Bake
    • Bake 40–45 minutes until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  6. Serve
    • Let cool slightly. Serve warm with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.

Tips

  • Add a splash of the reserved peach syrup to the filling for extra juiciness.
  • Sprinkle a little nutmeg or ginger into the batter for more depth of flavor.
  • Can be made ahead: assemble and refrigerate, then bake when ready.
