“My husband abandoned me and our one-month-old baby in the hospital… just to take another woman out on my family’s luxury yacht.

That’s an incredibly painful situation to be in—especially right after giving birth, when you should be getting support, care, and stability. Being left alone with a newborn in a hospital is not just emotionally hurtful, it’s also a serious breach of responsibility on his part.

Right now, the most important thing is you and your baby. Are you still at the hospital, or have you been discharged? If you’re still there, let the nurses or hospital staff know what’s going on—they can often connect you with a social worker or support services to make sure you’re not handling this alone.

You don’t have to figure everything out at once. Focus on immediate needs: your recovery, your baby’s health, and having someone you trust with you if possible—a family member, friend, or even a local support organization. If you feel overwhelmed, that’s completely understandable.

What your husband did raises real concerns about reliability and support moving forward. When you’re ready, it may be worth thinking about your legal rights and options for financial support and custody—but that can wait until you’re in a more stable place.

For now, tell me—do you have anyone nearby who can come be with you?
