Here’s a simple way to make Ripe and Natural Banana Candies—sweet, chewy (or slightly crisp), and made with minimal ingredients.


🍌 Ripe & Natural Banana Candies

Ingredients

  • 3–4 ripe Banana (firm-ripe works best, not overly mushy)
  • 1–2 tbsp honey or sugar (optional, depending on sweetness)
  • 1 tsp lemon juice (helps prevent browning)
  • Optional: cinnamon or vanilla powder

🍯 Method 1: Oven-Dried Banana Candies (Best texture)

1. Slice

  • Cut bananas into thin slices (3–5 mm).

2. Prep

  • Lightly coat with lemon juice.
  • Optional: sprinkle cinnamon or a little honey.

3. Bake slowly

  • Place on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake at 90–110°C (195–230°F) for 2–3 hours.
  • Flip halfway through for even drying.

4. Cool

  • Let them cool completely—they will firm up as they cool.

☀️ Method 2: Sun-Dried Version (Traditional)

  • Slice bananas thinly.
  • Place on a clean tray under direct sun.
  • Cover with a fine mesh cloth.
  • Dry for 1–2 days, bringing them inside at night.

🍬 Result

  • Soft chewy candy (shorter drying time)
  • Or crisp banana chips (longer drying time)

💡 Tips

  • Slightly underripe bananas hold shape better.
  • Thinner slices = crispier texture.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week (longer if fully dried).
