If you drool in your sleep, it’s usually just a normal body thing—not anything mysterious.

It can happen because when you’re asleep, your throat and facial muscles relax. That makes it harder to automatically swallow saliva the way you do when you’re awake. If your mouth is slightly open (like when sleeping on your side or stomach), saliva can also leak out more easily.

A few common reasons it happens more:

  • Sleeping position (side/stomach increases drooling)
  • Deep sleep stages (your body is more “relaxed”)
  • Nasal congestion (you breathe through your mouth instead of your nose)
  • Slightly reduced swallowing reflex during sleep

Most of the time, it’s harmless and just a normal sleep habit.

If you want, I can turn that into a “Read more…” style viral caption or continue it like a story hook.
