🥧 Grandma’s Sweet Potato Pie (Classic Southern Style)

Warm, creamy, spiced just right—this is the kind of pie that tastes like home.


🍠 Ingredients:

For the filling:

  • 2 cups mashed sweet potatoes (about 2–3 medium sweet potatoes)
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup evaporated milk (or whole milk)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp salt

For the crust:

  • 1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust

🔥 Instructions:

  1. Cook sweet potatoes
    • Boil or bake until soft, then peel and mash until smooth.
  2. Mix filling
    • In a bowl, combine mashed sweet potatoes, melted butter, and sugar.
    • Add eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
    • Mix until smooth and creamy.
  3. Fill crust
    • Pour mixture into unbaked pie crust and smooth the top.
  4. Bake
    • Bake at 175°C (350°F) for 50–60 minutes.
    • The center should be set but slightly jiggly.
  5. Cool
    • Let it cool completely before slicing so it sets properly.
