FRIED POTATOES & ONIONS?

Fried Potatoes & Onions is a simple, crispy, classic pan-fried dish—cheap, filling, and very flavorful when done right.

🥔🍳 Ingredients

  • Potatoes (2–4 medium)
  • Onions (1 large)
  • 2–3 tbsp oil or butter
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Black pepper (optional)
  • Optional: paprika, chili flakes, garlic powder

👩‍🍳 How to make it

1. Prepare the potatoes

  • Peel (or leave skin on if you like it rustic)
  • Slice thinly or cut into small cubes for faster cooking

2. Heat the pan

  • Add oil or butter on medium heat
  • Let it get hot but not smoking

3. Cook the potatoes first

  • Add potatoes in a single layer
  • Let them cook without stirring too much at first (this helps crispiness)
  • Stir occasionally until golden and soft inside (10–15 minutes depending on cut size)

4. Add onions

  • Add sliced onions once potatoes are partly cooked
  • Cook together until onions become soft and slightly caramelized

5. Season

  • Add salt, pepper, and any spices at the end
  • Toss well and let everything crisp up for 1–2 more minutes

  • Crispy edges
  • Soft, tender potatoes inside
  • Sweet, golden onions
