Fried Chicken 🍗 Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside—a classic comfort food!


🧾 Ingredients (Serves 4)

  • 4–6 pieces of chicken (legs, thighs, or wings)
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • Oil for frying (vegetable or peanut oil)

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Marinate the chicken

  • Soak chicken in buttermilk for at least 1–2 hours (or overnight in the fridge)
  • This makes it tender and flavorful

2. Prepare the coating

  • In a large bowl, mix flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper

3. Coat the chicken

  • Remove chicken from buttermilk, let excess drip off
  • Dredge in seasoned flour, pressing lightly to coat well

4. Fry

  • Heat oil to 175–180°C (350°F) in a deep pan or skillet
  • Fry chicken in batches to avoid overcrowding
  • Cook 12–15 minutes per side for larger pieces, until golden brown and internal temp reaches 75°C (165°F)

5. Drain

  • Remove fried chicken and place on a wire rack or paper towels to drain excess oil

  • Double coating: Dip in buttermilk again and re-dredge for extra crunch
  • Season the oil lightly: Adds subtle flavor
  • Rest before serving: Let chicken sit 5 minutes to keep juices locked in
