Ah, this is one of those classic quick-fix zipper hacks! Here’s a simple method most tailors use to make a stuck or slightly broken zipper work like new—without spending a dime:

Quick Zipper Fix in 1 Minute

What You’ll Need:

  • A pencil (graphite) or soap/wax/candle
  • Optional: pliers if the zipper slider is loose

Steps:

  1. Lubricate the zipper:
    • Rub the pencil tip (graphite) on the teeth of the zipper, or use a small piece of soap or candle wax. This reduces friction.
  2. Move the slider carefully:
    • Gently pull the zipper up and down. The lubrication should make it glide smoothly.
  3. Tighten the slider (if it’s loose):
    • If the zipper keeps separating, use pliers to squeeze the slider slightly—just enough to grip the teeth without crushing them.
  4. Test:
    • Zip it up and down a few times. It should now work like new.

💡 Pro tip: Graphite is actually the best because it doesn’t leave a sticky residue like some oils do.

If you want, I can also show a trick for zippers that completely come off the track—this one is even more of a “1-minute miracle.” Do you want me to share that too?
