Here’s a simple and cozy Crockpot Split Pea Soup recipe 🥣✨

🥣 Crockpot Split Pea Soup

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb dried green split peas (rinsed)
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2–3 carrots, diced
  • 2 celery stalks, chopped
  • 2–3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 ham bone or 1–2 cups diced ham (optional but classic)
  • 6–7 cups chicken broth or water
  • 1 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp thyme (optional)
  • 1–2 bay leaves

Instructions:

1. Add everything to crockpot
Put all ingredients into the slow cooker and stir.

2. Cook low and slow

  • Low: 7–8 hours
  • High: 4–5 hours

3. Stir & check texture
Peas should break down and soup should become thick and creamy.

4. Finish & serve
Remove bay leaves and ham bone (if used). Shred meat back into soup if desired.

🍲 Result:

Thick, hearty, and comforting soup with rich, savory flavor—perfect for cold days or easy dinners.

⭐ Optional upgrades:

  • Add smoked paprika for deeper flavor
  • Blend slightly for extra creaminess
  • Finish with a splash of lemon juice for brightness
  • Serve with crusty bread 🍞
