🍄 Chicken Marsala

Chicken Marsala is a classic Italian-American dish featuring tender chicken breasts in a rich mushroom and Marsala wine sauce. Perfect over pasta, rice, or mashed potatoes!


🧾 Ingredients (Serves 4)

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (for dredging)
  • Salt and black pepper
  • 2–3 tbsp olive oil
  • 8 oz mushrooms (sliced)
  • 3/4 cup Marsala wine
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • Optional: fresh parsley for garnish

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Prepare the chicken

  • Pound chicken breasts to even thickness (about 1/2 inch).
  • Season with salt and pepper, then dredge lightly in flour.

2️⃣ Cook the chicken

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Cook chicken 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove and set aside.

3️⃣ Cook the mushrooms

  • In the same skillet, add mushrooms and sauté 5–6 minutes until soft and lightly browned.

4️⃣ Make the sauce

  • Add Marsala wine and chicken broth to the skillet.
  • Simmer 5–7 minutes until slightly reduced.
  • Stir in butter to finish the sauce.

5️⃣ Combine and serve

  • Return chicken to the skillet and coat with sauce.
  • Simmer 2–3 minutes to heat through.
  • Garnish with parsley and serve hot.

  • Use dry Marsala wine for a balanced flavor.
  • Pair with fettuccine, mashed potatoes, or roasted vegetables.
  • Don’t overcook chicken—it should remain tender and juicy.
