🧾 Ingredients

  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 cups mushrooms (sliced)
  • 2–3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 small onion (sliced, optional)
  • 2 tbsp cooking oil (olive oil, sunflower, or sesame oil)

🥣 Sauce

  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional but adds depth)
  • 1 tsp sugar or honey
  • 1 tsp vinegar or lemon juice
  • 2–3 tbsp water
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp cornstarch (optional, for thicker sauce)

👨‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Prep the vegetables
    Wash broccoli and mushrooms. Cut broccoli into small florets and slice mushrooms evenly.
  2. Blanch broccoli (optional but recommended)
    Boil for 2 minutes, then drain. This keeps it bright green and slightly tender.
  3. Heat the pan
    Add oil to a wok or large pan on medium-high heat.
  4. Sauté aromatics
    Add garlic (and onion if using). Stir for 30–60 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Cook mushrooms
    Add mushrooms and stir-fry for 3–4 minutes until they soften and release moisture.
  6. Add broccoli
    Toss in broccoli and stir well.
  7. Add sauce
    Mix sauce ingredients in a bowl, pour into the pan, and stir everything together.
  8. Cook and thicken
    Let it cook for 2–3 minutes until the sauce coats the vegetables nicely.

🍽️ Serving ideas

  • With steamed rice 🍚
  • With noodles 🍜
  • Or as a side dish with chicken, fish, or tofu

💡 Tips

  • Don’t overcook broccoli—it should stay slightly crunchy
  • Add chili flakes if you like heat
  • A few drops of sesame oil at the end boosts flavor a lot
