Ingredients

For the Sweet Potato Base

  • 4 cups cooked and mashed sweet potatoes (about 4–5 medium sweet potatoes)
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup butter (melted)
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp nutmeg
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 2 eggs (beaten)

For the Topping (Optional Crunchy Pecan Topping)

  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup butter (cold, cubed)
  • ½ cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven
    • Preheat oven to 175 °C (350 °F).
    • Grease a baking dish.
  2. Prepare the Sweet Potato Mixture
    • In a large bowl, combine mashed sweet potatoes, brown sugar, melted butter, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, salt, and beaten eggs.
    • Mix until smooth and creamy.
  3. Assemble in Baking Dish
    • Spread the sweet potato mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  4. Prepare the Topping (Optional)
    • In a separate bowl, mix brown sugar, flour, cubed butter, and chopped pecans.
