Stove Top Stuffing Meatloaf 🍖
This easy meatloaf uses boxed stuffing mix instead of breadcrumbs, which makes it flavorful and very simple to prepare.
Ingredients
- 1½ lb (about 700 g) ground beef
- 1 box Stove Top Stuffing Mix (any flavor, such as chicken or turkey)
- 1 cup water or milk
- 2 eggs
- ½ cup ketchup
- 1 small onion, finely chopped (optional)
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
For the topping (optional):
- ¼ cup ketchup
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon mustard
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Prepare stuffing: In a bowl, mix the stuffing mix with 1 cup hot water and let it sit for 5 minutes.
- Mix ingredients: In a large bowl combine ground beef, prepared stuffing, eggs, ketchup, onion, and black pepper. Mix gently.
- Shape the meatloaf: Form the mixture into a loaf and place it in a baking dish or loaf pan.
- Add topping: Mix ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard and spread over the top.
- Bake for 50–60 minutes until fully cooked.
- Rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing.
