🍤 Shrimp scampi

Shrimp scampi is a popular Italian-American dish made with shrimp sautéed in garlic, butter, olive oil, lemon, and white wine, often served over pasta or with crusty bread to soak up the flavorful sauce.

Ingredients (4 servings)

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 3–4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 cup dry white wine (or chicken broth)
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley
  • 8 oz spaghetti or linguine (optional for serving)

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Cook pasta (optional)
    • Boil pasta according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Sauté garlic
    • Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium heat.
    • Add garlic and cook about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Cook shrimp
    • Add shrimp, salt, and pepper.
    • Cook 1–2 minutes per side until pink.
  4. Make the sauce
    • Add white wine (or broth), lemon juice, and red pepper flakes.
    • Simmer 2–3 minutes to slightly reduce.
  5. Finish and serve
    • Toss shrimp with pasta if using.
    • Sprinkle with parsley and serve immediately.

🍽️ Serving Ideas

  • Over linguine or spaghetti
  • With garlic bread
  • Over rice
  • With steamed vegetables or asparagus

✅ Tip: Don’t overcook shrimp—they cook very fast and become rubbery if left too long.

If you want, I can also show you the famous restaurant-style shrimp scampi that tastes like the one from Olive Garden—it’s extra buttery and very popular. 🍤
