Mozzarella sticks

Mozzarella Sticks 🧀🔥 are crispy, golden fried sticks of mozzarella cheese coated in seasoned breadcrumbs. They’re a classic snack or appetizer, perfect with marinara sauce.


Ingredients

  • 250 g mozzarella cheese (cut into sticks)
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs (beaten)
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Coating
    • In one bowl, place flour.
    • In another bowl, beat eggs.
    • In a third bowl, mix breadcrumbs with garlic powder, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  2. Coat the Cheese Sticks
    • Roll each mozzarella stick in flour → dip in beaten egg → coat with breadcrumb mixture.
    • For extra crispiness, repeat the egg and breadcrumb coating once more.
  3. Freeze
    • Place the coated sticks in the freezer for 30–60 minutes to prevent the cheese from melting too quickly while frying.
  4. Fry
    • Heat oil in a deep pan to 180 °C (350 °F).
    • Fry mozzarella sticks for 1–2 minutes until golden brown.
    • Remove and drain on paper towels.
  5. Serve
    • Serve hot with marinara sauce, ranch dressing, or garlic dip.

✅ Tip: Freezing the sticks before frying helps them stay intact and prevents cheese from oozing out.
