🧀 Macaroni and Cheese

A classic comfort food—creamy, cheesy, and perfect as a side or main dish!


🧾 Ingredients (Serves 4)

  • 8 oz macaroni pasta
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: breadcrumbs for topping

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Cook the pasta

  • Boil macaroni according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

2️⃣ Make the cheese sauce

  • In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
  • Stir in flour and cook 1–2 minutes to make a roux.
  • Gradually whisk in milk, cooking until slightly thickened.
  • Add shredded cheese, stirring until smooth. Season with salt and pepper.

3️⃣ Combine pasta and sauce

  • Mix cooked macaroni with cheese sauce.

4️⃣ Optional bake

  • Transfer to a baking dish, sprinkle breadcrumbs on top, and bake at 350°F (175°C) 15–20 minutes for a golden crust.

5️⃣ Serve

  • Serve warm as a side or main dish.

  • Mix cheeses (cheddar + mozzarella or gouda) for extra creaminess.
  • Add extras like bacon, jalapeños, or cooked vegetables for variety.
  • Use whole milk or half-and-half for richer sauce.
