Fruit Slice
Fruit Slice is a colorful no-bake dessert bar made with crushed cookies, sweetened condensed milk, coconut, and chopped candied fruit. It’s popular for quick treats because it sets in the refrigerator instead of the oven.
Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups crushed plain biscuits or graham crackers
- 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
- ½ cup desiccated coconut
- ½ cup chopped candied fruit (glacé cherries, mixed peel, etc.)
- ¼ cup chopped nuts (optional)
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- Extra coconut for coating
Instructions
- Crush the biscuits into fine crumbs and place them in a bowl.
- Add coconut, chopped candied fruit, and nuts. Mix well.
- Stir in sweetened condensed milk, melted butter, and vanilla.
- Mix until a thick dough forms.
- Press the mixture firmly into a lined square pan.
- Sprinkle or roll the top with extra coconut.
- Refrigerate for 2–3 hours until firm.
- Cut into small squares or slices and serve.
Optional Add-Ins
- Chocolate chips
- Dried raisins or cranberries
- Crushed pineapple (drained well)
- A thin chocolate layer on top
🍓 Serving Tip: Keep the slices chilled; they stay firm and taste even better cold.
