🍗 Baked Chicken Leg Quarters

Chicken leg quarters (thigh + drumstick together) are juicy, flavorful, and perfect for an easy weeknight dinner. Baking them slowly gives tender meat with crispy skin.


🧾 Ingredients

  • 2–4 chicken leg quarters
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Optional: herbs (rosemary, thyme, or parsley)

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Preheat oven

  • Heat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Line a baking sheet or dish with foil.

2️⃣ Season the chicken

  • Pat chicken dry.
  • Rub olive oil, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder all over.
  • Sprinkle herbs if using.

3️⃣ Bake

  • Place chicken skin-side up on the baking sheet.
  • Bake 40–50 minutes until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and skin is golden.

4️⃣ Optional broil

  • For extra crispy skin, broil for 2–3 minutes at the end.

5️⃣ Rest and serve

  • Let chicken rest 5 minutes before serving.

🍽️ Serving Ideas

  • Mashed potatoes or roasted potatoes
  • Steamed vegetables or green beans
  • Rice or pasta
