Chicken Alfredo Calzone

Posted on March 8, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a delicious Chicken Alfredo Calzone 🥟🍗—a cheesy, creamy, stuffed pizza pocket that’s perfect for a hearty meal:

Ingredients

For the Dough

  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp instant yeast
  • ¾ cup warm water
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

For the Filling

  • 1 cup cooked chicken (shredded or diced)
  • 1 cup Alfredo sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 clove garlic (minced)
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp Italian seasoning
  • Optional: spinach, mushrooms, or bell peppers

For Brushing

  • 1 egg (beaten) or olive oil

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough
    • In a bowl, combine yeast, warm water, and sugar. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
    • Add flour, salt, and olive oil. Knead until smooth and elastic.
    • Cover and let rise for 1–2 hours until doubled in size.
  2. Prepare the Filling
    • In a bowl, mix cooked chicken, Alfredo sauce, mozzarella, Parmesan, garlic, black pepper, and Italian seasoning.
    • Add optional veggies if desired.
  3. Assemble the Calzones
    • Preheat oven to 200 °C (400 °F).
    • Divide dough into portions and roll into circles (about 6–8 inches).
    • Place a generous amount of filling on one half of the dough circle.
    • Fold the dough over and seal the edges by pressing with a fork.
  4. Bake
    • Place calzones on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
    • Brush tops with beaten egg or olive oil for a golden finish.
    • Bake for 18–22 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Serve
    • Let cool slightly before serving.
    • Serve with extra Alfredo sauce or marinara sauce for dipping.

✅ Tips:

  • Avoid overfilling to prevent the calzone from bursting in the oven.
  • For extra crispiness, brush the edges with olive oil and sprinkle a little Parmesan on top.
  • You can make mini calzones for snack-sized servings.

I can also share a restaurant-style version with creamy garlic sauce and crispy crust if you want. Do you want me to?
