🥩 Ingredients (Serves 4-6)

  • 2–3 lbs (900 g–1.4 kg) country-style pork ribs
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite brand or homemade)
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar or apple juice
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Optional for oven finishing: additional BBQ sauce for glazing

Slow Cooker Method

  1. Prep the Ribs:
    Season the ribs with salt, pepper, smoked paprika, and onion powder.
  2. Layer in Slow Cooker:
    Place ribs in the slow cooker in a single layer (you can overlap slightly). Sprinkle minced garlic on top. Pour apple cider vinegar (or juice) over the ribs, then spoon BBQ sauce evenly over them.
  3. Cook:
    Cover and cook on low for 6–7 hours or high for 3–4 hours, until the ribs are tender and pull-apart soft.
  4. Optional Glaze:
    For a sticky, caramelized finish, preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the cooked ribs on a baking sheet, brush with extra BBQ sauce, and bake 10–15 minutes.
  5. Serve:
    Serve hot with extra BBQ sauce on the side, and classic sides like coleslaw, baked beans, or cornbread.

  • For smoky flavor without a smoker, add 1 tsp liquid smoke to the slow cooker.
  • Country-style ribs are meaty and fatty, so they stay tender without drying out.
  • You can double the recipe for a crowd; they freeze well too.
