Here’s a simple guide for making a baked potato that’s fluffy inside and crispy outside:


Ingredients:

  • 1 large potato (Russet is best)
  • Olive oil or butter
  • Salt
  • Optional toppings: sour cream, cheese, bacon bits, chives, or herbs

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven
    Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Prepare the potato
    • Wash and scrub the potato well.
    • Pat dry.
    • Prick the potato a few times with a fork (prevents it from bursting).
  3. Season
    • Rub the potato with a little olive oil or butter.
    • Sprinkle salt evenly over the skin.
  4. Bake
    • Place directly on the oven rack or on a baking sheet.
    • Bake for 45–60 minutes, depending on size.
    • To check doneness, poke with a fork—it should slide in easily.
  5. Serve
    • Slice open the top.
    • Fluff the inside with a fork.
    • Add your favorite toppings like sour cream, cheese, or chives.
