Green Pepper Lasagna Recipe

Ingredients (serves 6–8)

  • 6 medium green peppers, diced
  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey
  • 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
  • 9–12 lasagna noodles (no-boil or regular, cooked)
  • 15 oz ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the meat: In a large skillet, brown the ground meat over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add peppers and seasoning: Stir in diced green peppers, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Cook 3–4 minutes until slightly softened.
  4. Add sauce: Pour in marinara sauce, stir, and simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Layer the lasagna:
    • Spread a thin layer of sauce in the bottom of a 9×13 pan.
    • Add a layer of noodles.
    • Spread 1/3 of the ricotta cheese over the noodles.
    • Pour 1/3 of the meat & pepper sauce on top.
    • Sprinkle 1/3 of the mozzarella.
    • Repeat twice, finishing with sauce and remaining mozzarella & Parmesan.
  6. Bake: Cover with foil and bake 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  7. Rest: Let it sit 10 minutes before slicing to set.

💡 Tip: You can also roast the green peppers first for a sweeter, deeper flavor before adding to the meat sauce.
