Beef lasagne

Here’s a classic Beef Lasagne recipe—rich, cheesy, and perfect for a hearty family meal 🍝🧀🥩


🥘 Ingredients (serves 4–6)

For the meat sauce:

  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (6 oz) tomato paste
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • Salt & pepper to taste

For the cheese layer:

  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan
  • 1 egg (optional, for binding)
  • Salt & pepper

Other:

  • 9–12 lasagne noodles (cooked or no-boil)
  • Extra mozzarella & Parmesan for topping

🥄 Instructions

  1. Make the meat sauce
    • Sauté onion and garlic in a pan until soft.
    • Add ground beef, cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
    • Stir in diced tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer 15–20 minutes.
  2. Prepare the cheese mixture
    • In a bowl, mix ricotta, mozzarella, Parmesan, egg, salt, and pepper.
  3. Assemble the lasagne
    • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
    • Spread a thin layer of meat sauce in a baking dish.
    • Layer noodles over the sauce.
    • Spread a layer of the cheese mixture, then meat sauce.
    • Repeat layers, finishing with meat sauce and extra mozzarella/Parmesan on top.
  4. Bake
    • Cover with foil and bake 25–30 minutes.
    • Remove foil and bake another 10–15 minutes until cheese is golden and bubbly.
  5. Serve
    • Let rest 5–10 minutes before cutting.

💡 Tips

  • Add spinach or mushrooms to the cheese layer for extra veggies.
  • Use no-boil noodles to save time.
  • Leftovers taste even better the next day as flavors meld.
