Here’s a simple guide for cooking shrimp—quick, versatile, and delicious:

🍤 Basic Shrimp Cooking Guide

🛒 Ingredients

  • 500 g (1 lb) raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • 2–3 garlic cloves, minced
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • Optional: lemon juice, paprika, chili flakes, or fresh herbs

👩‍🍳 Cooking Methods

1️⃣ Sautéed Shrimp

  1. Heat oil or butter in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add garlic, sauté 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add shrimp, season with salt and pepper.
  4. Cook 2–3 minutes per side until pink and opaque.
  5. Finish with a squeeze of lemon juice or sprinkle of herbs.

2️⃣ Boiled Shrimp

  1. Bring a pot of water to a boil.
  2. Add salt and optional aromatics (lemon slices, bay leaf).
  3. Add shrimp and boil 2–3 minutes until pink.
  4. Drain and serve chilled with cocktail sauce or warm in dishes.

3️⃣ Oven-Roasted Shrimp

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Toss shrimp with oil, garlic, and seasonings.
  3. Spread on a baking sheet.
  4. Roast 6–8 minutes until pink and opaque.

💡 Tips

  • Don’t overcook shrimp; they turn rubbery quickly.
  • Frozen shrimp should be thawed before cooking for even results.
  • Shrimp pairs well with pasta, rice, salads, tacos, or just as an appetizer.
