🛒 Ingredients

  • 1 bunch asparagus (trimmed)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • 2–3 garlic cloves, minced
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • Zest and juice of 1 lemon
  • Optional: grated Parmesan or crushed red pepper flakes

  1. Prep asparagus:
    • Trim the woody ends (about 1–2 inches from the bottom).
  2. Cook asparagus:
    • Stovetop: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
      • Add garlic and sauté 30 seconds until fragrant.
      • Add asparagus, salt, and pepper.
      • Cook 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender-crisp.
    • Oven/Roast: Toss asparagus with oil, garlic, salt, and pepper.
      • Roast at 200°C (400°F) for 10–12 minutes.
  3. Add lemon flavor:
    • Sprinkle lemon zest and squeeze lemon juice over the cooked asparagus.
    • Toss gently to coat.
  4. Optional finishing touches:
    • Sprinkle grated Parmesan or crushed red pepper for extra flavor.
  5. Serve immediately:
