Beef spaghetti

Here’s a simple, delicious beef spaghetti recipe—rich, hearty, and perfect for a family meal 🍝


Ingredients (Serves 4–6)

For the sauce:

  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2–3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups tomato sauce (or crushed tomatoes)
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 1/2 tsp chili flakes (optional)
  • 1–2 tbsp oil

For the pasta:

  • 300–400g spaghetti
  • Salt for boiling water

Instructions

  1. Cook the spaghetti:
    • Boil water with salt.
    • Cook spaghetti until al dente (firm but tender).
    • Drain and set aside.
  2. Cook the beef:
    • Heat oil in a pan.
    • Add onion and cook until soft.
    • Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
    • Add ground beef and cook until browned.
  3. Make the sauce:
    • Stir in tomato paste, then add tomato sauce.
    • Add oregano, basil, salt, pepper, and chili flakes.
    • Simmer for 10–15 minutes until thick and flavorful.
  4. Combine:
    • Add cooked spaghetti to the sauce and toss well.
  5. Serve:
    • Top with grated cheese (like cheddar or parmesan if available).

💡 Tips

  • Add a little sugar (½ tsp) if the sauce tastes too acidic.
  • You can toss in veggies like bell peppers or carrots for extra flavor.
  • For a richer taste, add a splash of cream or a knob of butter at the end.
