Chicken and noodles

Here’s a warm and comforting Chicken and Noodles recipe 🍗🍜 — perfect for a cozy, hearty meal.


Ingredients (Serves 4–6)

  • 2 cups cooked chicken (shredded or diced)
  • 8 oz egg noodles
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup water (or more broth)
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 carrots, sliced
  • 2 celery stalks, chopped
  • ½ tsp dried thyme
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Optional: ½ cup heavy cream for a creamy version
  • Optional garnish: fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Sauté veggies
    • In a large pot, melt butter over medium heat.
    • Cook onion, carrots, and celery for 4–5 minutes until softened.
    • Add garlic and cook 30 seconds.
  2. Add broth & seasoning
    • Pour in chicken broth and water.
    • Stir in thyme, salt, and pepper.
    • Bring to a boil.
  3. Cook noodles
    • Add egg noodles and cook according to package directions (about 7–10 minutes).
  4. Add chicken
    • Stir in cooked chicken and simmer 5 minutes until heated through.
  5. Optional creamy step
    • Stir in heavy cream for a richer, creamier texture.
  6. Serve
    • Taste and adjust seasoning.
    • Garnish with parsley and serve warm.

Tips

  • Shortcut: Use rotisserie chicken to save time.
  • Thicker texture: Let it simmer longer or mash a few noodles slightly.
  • Extra flavor: Add a splash of lemon juice at the end to brighten it up.
