Crispy fried mushrooms

Posted on March 23, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a simple and tasty recipe for Crispy Fried Mushrooms 🍄 — golden, crunchy, and perfect as a snack or appetizer.

Ingredients (Serves 2–4)

  • 12 oz fresh mushrooms (button or cremini), cleaned and trimmed
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup cornmeal or panko breadcrumbs (for extra crunch)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • Oil for frying (vegetable, canola, or peanut oil)
  • Optional: dipping sauce (ranch, aioli, or spicy mayo)

Instructions

  1. Prep mushrooms
    • Pat mushrooms dry with a paper towel.
  2. Set up dredging station
    • Bowl 1: flour mixed with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper
    • Bowl 2: beaten eggs
    • Bowl 3: cornmeal or panko breadcrumbs
  3. Coat mushrooms
    • Dip each mushroom in flour, then egg, then breadcrumbs. Ensure fully coated.
  4. Fry mushrooms
    • Heat oil in a deep skillet or saucepan over medium-high heat (about 350°F / 175°C).
    • Fry mushrooms in batches 2–3 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
    • Drain on paper towels.
  5. Serve
    • Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.

Tips

  • Extra crunch: Use panko breadcrumbs instead of cornmeal for a lighter, crispier coating.
  • Baked option: Spray coated mushrooms with cooking spray and bake at 400°F (200°C) for 15–20 minutes, flipping halfway.
  • Seasoning twist: Add Parmesan cheese or dried herbs to the breadcrumb mix for extra flavor.

If you want, I can also give you an air fryer version that’s super crispy with less oil — perfect for a quick, healthier snack 😄

Do you want me to do that?
