Ingredients (Serves 4–6)

  • 4–6 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs)
  • 1 bottle (18 oz) Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ Sauce
  • ½ cup water or chicken broth
  • 1 small onion, sliced (optional)
  • 2–3 cloves garlic, minced (optional)
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Optional: red pepper flakes for a little heat

Instructions

  1. Prepare the slow cooker
    • Spray the inside lightly with cooking spray or oil.
  2. Add chicken
    • Place chicken breasts in the slow cooker. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
  3. Add sauce & aromatics
    • Pour the entire bottle of Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ sauce over the chicken.
    • Add water or broth to help thin slightly and keep it juicy.
    • Add onion and garlic if using.
  4. Cook
    • Cover and cook on low for 6–7 hours or high for 3–4 hours until chicken is fully cooked and tender.
  5. Shred chicken (optional)
    • For pulled BBQ chicken, remove the chicken and shred with two forks, then stir back into the sauce.
  6. Serve
    • Serve over rice, mashed potatoes, in sandwiches, or on buns.

  • Thicker sauce: Remove the lid and cook on high for 15–20 minutes at the end to thicken the sauce.
  • Add veggies: Bell peppers, carrots, or onions can cook with the chicken for extra flavor.
  • Spicy version: Mix in a little hot sauce or cayenne with the BBQ sauce.
