🧾 Ingredients

  • 3–5 lb beef brisket
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt & pepper (to taste)
  • 1–2 tsp smoked paprika (optional)
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 cup beef broth or stock
  • Optional: BBQ sauce, onions, carrots, or celery for braising

👩‍🍳 Cooking Methods

1. Oven-Baked / Braised Brisket

  1. Preheat oven to 160°C (325°F)
  2. Season brisket generously with salt, pepper, and spices
  3. Heat oil in a large oven-safe pan and sear brisket 3–5 minutes per side
  4. Add broth and optional vegetables
  5. Cover tightly with foil or a lid
  6. Bake for 3–4 hours until tender (internal temp ~90°C / 195°F)

2. Smoked / BBQ Brisket

  1. Rub brisket with spice mix and let sit for a few hours or overnight
  2. Smoke at 110–120°C (225–250°F) for 8–12 hours
  3. Wrap in foil halfway through to retain moisture (Texas Crutch method)
  4. Rest for at least 30 minutes before slicing
