🍖 Pot Roast (Main Recipe)
Ingredients
- 1–1.5 kg chuck roast
- 2 tbsp oil
- Salt & black pepper
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3–4 carrots, chopped
- 3 potatoes, chunked
- 3 cloves garlic
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp dried thyme or rosemary

- Season & sear
Rub roast with salt and pepper. Sear in hot oil until browned on all sides. - Build flavor
Remove roast, sauté onions and garlic in the same pot. - Add liquids & spices
Stir in tomato paste, paprika, herbs, and broth. - Slow cook
Return roast, add carrots and potatoes.
Cover and cook:- Stovetop: 2.5–3 hours (low heat)
- Oven: 160°C for 3–4 hours
- Slow cooker: 6–8 hours on low
- Make gravy
Remove meat. Simmer juices and thicken (optional with cornstarch slurry).
🍽️ How to Plate It
- Place a scoop of mashed potatoes in the center
- Add a generous slice of pot roast
- Surround with carrots and greens
- Pour gravy over the meat and potatoes
- Add a warm dinner roll on the side
