🥩🦞 Steak and lobster (Surf and Turf)

Steak and lobster, often called surf and turf, is a classic upscale dish combining a juicy, perfectly cooked steak with a buttery lobster tail or whole lobster, giving you the best of land and sea in one plate. This dish is popular in fine dining and special occasions.

🧾 Ingredients (Serves 2)

  • 2 steaks (ribeye, filet mignon, or strip steak, 8 oz each)
  • 2 lobster tails (4–6 oz each)
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Optional: fresh herbs (thyme, rosemary, parsley)
  • Lemon wedges for serving

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Prepare the Lobster

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Split lobster tails down the middle with kitchen shears.
  3. Brush meat with melted butter, garlic, salt, and pepper.
  4. Bake 12–15 minutes until lobster meat is opaque and cooked through.

2. Cook the Steak

  1. Season steaks with salt, pepper, and optional herbs.
  2. Heat a skillet over high heat with a little oil or butter.
  3. Sear steaks 3–4 minutes per side for medium-rare (adjust for thickness).
  4. Let steaks rest 5 minutes before serving.

3. Serve

  • Place lobster tail and steak on a plate.
  • Drizzle with garlic butter or serve with a side of drawn butter and lemon wedges.

🍽️ Popular Sides

  • Garlic mashed potatoes
  • Grilled asparagus or broccoli
  • Creamed spinach
  • Rice pilaf or baked potato

💡 Tip:
For a restaurant-style touch, finish the steak with a garlic-herb butter while resting to make it extra rich and flavorful.

I can also give you a Chef-style “perfect steak and lobster” recipe that’s restaurant-quality, buttery, and perfectly seared, just like you’d get at a fine dining surf-and-turf dinner.
