🍖 Deep fried pork chops

Deep fried pork chops are a classic comfort-food dish where seasoned pork chops are breaded and fried until golden, crispy outside and juicy inside. They’re popular in Southern-style cooking and pair well with hearty sides.

🧾 Ingredients (4 servings)

  • 4 Pork chops (bone-in or boneless)
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Oil for deep frying

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Season the pork chops
    • Pat chops dry and season both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
  2. Prepare dredging stations
    • Bowl 1: flour
    • Bowl 2: beaten eggs mixed with milk
  3. Coat the chops
    • Dip each pork chop in flour → egg mixture → flour again for extra crispiness.
  4. Heat the oil
    • Heat oil in a deep skillet or fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Fry the pork chops
    • Fry 5–7 minutes per side (depending on thickness) until golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Drain and serve
    • Place on paper towels to drain excess oil.

🍽️ Great Southern-style sides

  • Mashed potatoes
  • Collard greens
  • Cornbread
  • Macaroni and cheese

💡 Tip: Soaking the pork chops in buttermilk for 1–2 hours before breading makes them even more tender and flavorful.

If you want, I can also show you the Southern “country fried pork chops with gravy” version, which many people consider the ultimate comfort-food meal. 🍖
