🥩 Roast beef

Roast beef is a classic dish made by slow-roasting a large cut of beef in the oven until tender and juicy. It’s often served sliced with gravy, vegetables, or potatoes and is popular for family dinners and holidays.


🧾 Ingredients (6 servings)

  • 3–4 lb beef roast (top round, chuck roast, or rib roast)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp dried rosemary or thyme
  • 1 onion, sliced (optional)
  • 1 cup beef broth

👨‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Preheat oven
    • Set oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Season the beef
    • Rub roast with olive oil, garlic, salt, pepper, and herbs.
  3. Prepare roasting pan
    • Place sliced onions in the bottom of the pan (optional).
    • Set roast on top and pour beef broth around it.
  4. Roast
    • Cook about 20 minutes per pound until desired doneness.
    • Internal temperatures:
      • 135°F – medium-rare
      • 145°F – medium
  5. Rest the meat
    • Let roast rest 10–15 minutes before slicing.
  6. Serve
    • Slice against the grain and serve with the pan juices or gravy.
