  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • ¼ cup maple syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp salt

For the Maple Icing

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2–3 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp milk (optional, for thinner icing)

Instructions

1. Preheat oven

  • Heat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet.

2. Make cookie dough

  • Cream butter and brown sugar until fluffy.
  • Mix in egg, maple syrup, and vanilla.

3. Combine dry ingredients

  • In another bowl mix flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually mix into the wet ingredients.

4. Bake

  • Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the baking sheet.
  • Bake 10–12 minutes until lightly golden.

5. Make icing

  • Whisk powdered sugar and maple syrup until smooth.

6. Finish cookies

  • Let cookies cool, then drizzle or spread icing on top.

Tips

  • Use pure maple syrup for the best flavor.
  • Sprinkle chopped pecans or walnuts on the icing for crunch.
  • A pinch of cinnamon in the dough adds warmth.

🍁 Serving idea: Enjoy with coffee, tea, or a cold glass of milk.
