Egg salad

Egg salad is a classic, creamy dish made from chopped hard-boiled eggs mixed with mayonnaise and seasonings. It’s often used in sandwiches, wraps, or as a salad topping.


Ingredients

  • 6 hard-boiled eggs, peeled and chopped
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp mustard (optional)
  • 2 tbsp finely chopped celery or onion (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp lemon juice or vinegar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the eggs
    • Place eggs in a pot, cover with water, bring to a boil, then simmer for 10 minutes.
    • Cool and peel.
  2. Chop the eggs
    • Dice the eggs into small pieces and place in a bowl.
  3. Mix with dressing
    • Combine eggs with mayonnaise, mustard, celery or onion, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
  4. Serve
    • On bread or toast
    • In lettuce wraps
    • On crackers or as a side salad

Tips

  • For extra flavor, add chopped pickles, dill, or paprika.
  • Keep chilled until serving for best texture.
  • Use freshly boiled eggs for a softer, creamier texture.
