One Pot Beef and Pasta

Here’s a hearty and easy One-Pot Beef and Pasta recipe 🍝🥩—perfect for a quick weeknight dinner with minimal cleanup.


Ingredients (Serves 4)

  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2–3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14 oz / 400 g) diced tomatoes
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 cups uncooked pasta (penne, rotini, or elbow macaroni)
  • 1 tsp dried Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese (optional)
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

1. Brown the Beef

  • In a large pot or deep skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned.
  • Drain excess fat.
  • Add onion and garlic, and sauté until softened (2–3 minutes).

2. Add Liquids and Seasonings

  • Stir in diced tomatoes (with juice), beef broth, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.

3. Add Pasta

  • Add uncooked pasta directly into the pot.
  • Stir to combine, making sure pasta is mostly submerged in liquid.

4. Cook

  • Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium-low.
  • Cover and simmer for 12–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed.

5. Add Cheese (Optional)

  • If using, sprinkle shredded cheese over the pasta.
  • Cover for 2–3 minutes until melted.

6. Serve

  • Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.

  • You can add vegetables like bell peppers, mushrooms, or spinach for extra nutrition.
  • Use short pasta shapes that cook evenly in one pot.
  • Adjust liquid slightly if you want the dish saucy or more dry.
