Ingredients (Serves 2–3)

For the Chicken:

  • 500 g boneless chicken thighs or breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour or cornstarch
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1–2 tbsp vegetable oil for frying

For the Honey Garlic Sauce:

  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 2–3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar or lemon juice
  • 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 1 tbsp water (optional, for thickening)
  • 1 tsp sesame oil (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken
    • Season chicken pieces with salt and pepper.
    • Coat lightly in flour or cornstarch.
  2. Cook the Chicken
    • Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
    • Fry chicken pieces for 4–6 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  3. Make the Sauce
    • In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
    • Stir in honey, soy sauce, and rice vinegar.
    • Cook for 1–2 minutes until the sauce begins to thicken.
    • Optional: add cornstarch slurry to make it thicker.
  4. Combine
    • Add the fried chicken back into the skillet.
    • Toss well to coat all pieces in the honey garlic sauce.
    • Drizzle with sesame oil if using.
  5. Serve
    • Serve hot with steamed rice, noodles, or vegetables.
    • Garnish with sesame seeds or chopped green onions.

  • For extra crispiness, double-coat chicken in flour/cornstarch.
  • Use chicken thighs for juicier pieces compared to breasts.
  • You can make a baked version in the oven at 200 °C (400 °F) for 20–25 minutes, tossing halfway.
