Fried rice

Here’s a simple and flavorful Fried Rice 🍚🥕🥩 recipe—you can customize it with vegetables, protein, and sauces you like:


Ingredients (Serves 2–3)

  • 2 cups cooked rice (preferably chilled overnight)
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 cup mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, corn, bell peppers)
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 cup cooked protein (chicken, shrimp, or tofu, optional)
  • 2–3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Eggs
    • Heat 1 tbsp oil in a large skillet or wok over medium heat.
    • Pour in beaten eggs and scramble until just set. Remove and set aside.
  2. Sauté Aromatics
    • Add remaining oil to the skillet.
    • Sauté garlic and onion until fragrant (1–2 minutes).
  3. Cook Vegetables and Protein
    • Add mixed vegetables and cooked protein. Stir-fry for 3–4 minutes until heated through.
  4. Add Rice
    • Add cooked rice, breaking up clumps.
    • Stir-fry for 3–5 minutes until rice is heated and slightly crispy.
  5. Season
    • Add soy sauce, sesame oil (if using), salt, and pepper.
    • Stir in scrambled eggs. Mix everything well.
  6. Serve
    • Garnish with chopped green onions and serve hot.

✅ Tips:

  • Use day-old rice for the best texture—freshly cooked rice can be too soft and sticky.
  • Add a dash of oyster sauce or chili sauce for extra flavor.
  • You can swap proteins or make it vegetarian—just add more veggies.
