Italian-style drunken noodles

Posted on March 8, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a flavorful Italian-Style Drunken Noodles 🍝🌶️ recipe—a fusion of Thai-inspired spicy noodles with Italian flavors:

Ingredients

  • 250 g wide rice noodles or fettuccine (cooked according to package instructions)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2–3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 small onion (sliced)
  • 1 red bell pepper (sliced)
  • 200 g chicken, shrimp, or tofu (optional, sliced or cubed)
  • 2–3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1–2 tbsp oyster sauce or Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp chili flakes (adjust to taste)
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1–2 tsp sugar
  • Fresh basil leaves (for garnish)
  • Grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for Italian touch)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Protein (if using)
    • Heat olive oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
    • Cook chicken, shrimp, or tofu until done and lightly browned. Remove and set aside.
  2. Sauté Vegetables
    • In the same skillet, add garlic, onion, and bell pepper.
    • Sauté for 2–3 minutes until fragrant and slightly tender.
  3. Add the Noodles
    • Add cooked noodles to the skillet. Toss with soy sauce, oyster/Worcestershire sauce, chili flakes, pepper, and sugar.
    • Return cooked protein to the pan. Mix everything well over medium heat.
  4. Finish
    • Garnish with fresh basil leaves and sprinkle Parmesan cheese if desired.
    • Serve immediately while hot.

✅ Tips:

  • Adjust chili and garlic according to your spice preference.
  • For a richer flavor, add a splash of white wine while tossing noodles.
  • Use wide pasta for a more authentic “drunken noodle” texture.

I can also give a quick 15-minute version with pre-cooked chicken and vegetables that’s perfect for weeknight dinners if you want. Do you want me to share that?
