Fried chicken

 Chicken 🍗 is a crispy, golden-brown chicken dish with a juicy interior. It’s a classic comfort food enjoyed worldwide.

Ingredients

  • 1 kg chicken pieces (drumsticks, thighs, or wings)
  • 1 cup buttermilk (or milk + 1 tbsp lemon juice)
  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper (optional for heat)
  • Oil for deep frying

Instructions

  1. Marinate the Chicken
    • Soak chicken pieces in buttermilk for at least 1 hour (or overnight for best results).
  2. Prepare the Coating
    • In a bowl, mix flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper.
  3. Coat the Chicken
    • Remove chicken from buttermilk and dredge in the flour mixture.
    • Press flour onto the chicken to form a thick coating.
  4. Fry
    • Heat oil in a deep pan to 175–180 °C (350 °F).
    • Fry chicken pieces in batches for 12–15 minutes (depending on size) until golden brown and fully cooked.
    • Remove and drain on paper towels.
  5. Serve
    • Serve hot with fries, coleslaw, or dipping sauce.

✅ Tip: For extra crispy chicken, double dredge: dip in flour → buttermilk → flour again before frying.
