Baked Apple Fritters

Here’s a simple, tasty recipe for baked apple fritters (so you get the flavor without deep frying).

Ingredients

For the batter:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp melted butter

For the apples:

  • 2 medium apples (peeled, diced small)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

Optional glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2–3 tbsp milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla

Instructions

  1. Prep apples:
    Mix diced apples with lemon juice, sugar, and cinnamon. Set aside.
  2. Make batter:
    In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
    In another bowl, whisk eggs, milk, vanilla, and melted butter.
    Combine wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.
  3. Add apples:
    Fold apple mixture into the batter.
  4. Bake:
    Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
    Drop spoonfuls of batter onto a lined baking tray.
    Bake for 15–20 minutes until golden and cooked through.
  5. Glaze (optional):
    Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth. Drizzle over warm fritters.

Result

Soft inside, lightly crisp outside, and full of cinnamon-apple flavor—like classic fritters but baked instead of fried.
